I got up early and went down to the river. There is a close island, where gulls usually roost in massive numbers. So I set up the tripod, on the nearest shore and began to watch and listen. The island is surrounded by brush. Limiting camera view access. But the surrounding ice, gave the birds a perfect place to land and relax. Leading to territory disputes and other such antics.
Fights were usually quite brief. Also occurring inside the island, so you could only hear the chaos. But on occasion, it would happen in my view. This fight was one of the most aggressive and lengthy. Starting from the inside of the island and finishing 30 feet or so outside!
