 I had a good perspective of a friend crossing over to another little island and snapped away.

I like the way you have used the rocks from the bottom left hand corner to lead the viewer into the image. I'm not sure if the choice of processing has worked here or not, maybe seeing the original would help to give an idea if the colours have been an improvement, did you try this in B&W? (MHO) :o)
