Very well done. Even the spots on the sidewalk are in harmony with the subject. I got curious about what is hanging off this man's shoulder....NOT a man-purse or a bag for his iPad, it looks like a camera bag. How strange! He doesn't look like a photog. He looks like a picture definition for the word insouciance.
A very common view these days, not only in New York, but also in very small town like the one I live in. You managed to freeze the motion perfectly. I like the contrast between the rather dark person (clothing/hair) and the lighter sidewalk and walls. The face and hand are the brightest areas, as it should be. Nice.
With the passage of time and the increase in Mega Pixels, technology, photoshopping clones and suchlike, this is an image that will endure and speaks about our mad world.
Great image, like the contrast between the dark clothes against that lighter background and the even brighter pavement. B&W works very well here, good choice.
He sure is stylin' - lovely choice of b&w - Great details and a story that is told wherever you look these days - although I must say he looks a tad more classy than most :)
Nicely framed, and well captured. Shoes, coat, hairdo, gloves and background all look very old fashioned. Cell phone betrays him as a 21st century citizen.
