Usually if you capture an image where light meets shadow, that is enough to start the dialogue. This one does just that.

Oh, very, very nice, John. I love the play of light and shadow, the patterns and textures of the lace, the shadow on the sill - just lovely. I don't find it bland at all - quiet, maybe, but not at all bland.
