Congratulations, Paul, on winning the yellow in such stiff competition! This image so well deserves the recognition. It is a beautiful work of art. The model is beautiful; the lighting is exquisite; the colors and contrast are rich; and the pose and drape are graceful and sensuous without being lewd. I really like the diagonal composition and balance, and the details of the wallpaper and chair that gradually emerge from the darkness. Bravo!
Fabulous image Paul, congrats on the ribbon. was a 10 from me. I recall seeing this young lady in the National Portrait Gallery Taylor Wessing Prize exhibition a couple of years ago.
I've given this a 7. It's fabulously lit and the colors are... magnificent. Brilliant image with that contrast against the black... *contented sigh*
I'm not a prude, but the "nudeness" detracts (for me) from the beautiful model and the fabulous light.
I think with some filmy upper cloth, this could be a 10.
I'd really like to hear what you think the nakedness brought to the image.
(feel free to message me, if you like)
Thanks for the comment and the consequent discussion, it was really interesting and you made me think.
There's an elegance, a grace, a confidence in this. She is a work of art unto herself - breathtaking - such a lovely example of how wonderful the female form is, but it is your direction and use of light and setting which allow us to see that.
Paul?
Never tried anything like this, and to be honest I wouldn't know where to start.
Even with my limited knowledge I can see its a good shot,
Well done.
