I have been wanting to try this for a long time now. I know this won't win but I love the shapes that smoke can create. I guess this is just a smoke as art type pic.
Smoke source is 2 incense cones on a glass table, lighting is from strobe underneth glass. I used my 50mm 1.8
Had tons of outtakes on this one

So close AGAIN!. It would have been wonderful if you had won this challenge. :)
You produced a great image and my opinion is you deserve a ribbon. Best of Luck.
Smokeditor: Congratulations on your 5th placing. lately you are like a fountain that keeps reaching for the top. You are hot and you are bursting with great concepts and immaculate executions. Keep it up.
When I was a little kid, I used to watch smoke from my Dad's cigarettes. This reminds me of it. (I'm surprised that no one took photos of someone blowing smoke circles.) Anyway, your image is very pretty with the blues and whites against the black background - all nicely composed and focused. Congratulations and good luck with the image.
Excellent, the colour in this really adds to the overall atmosphere, I love it and would love to know the source of the smoke - am sure you'll explain it all at the end of the challenge.
excellent definition, even if your exposure/brightening has gone a touch too far in places IMO. Including the source might have given the image some sense of contet, instead of being simply a pretty pattern.
