This is a nice journalistic photo. It has a nice 'story' to it and it captures an interesting moment in time. I personally believe the desaturation of the reds in this photo 'cheapens' it a bit. It makes this photo appear to be a 'gimmick' shot rather than something that tells a story. My first impression of it is 'why?' above anything else. I don't understand your reason for desaturating the reds. In your mind, how did that 'improve' this photo? Decisions to make changes like this should be accompanied by a strong reason for doing so :)
It's interesting that you've had to have this photo validated, but can see why. Looking forward to reading the 'how it was done' when voting is over. The colour contrasts are great and really enhance this photo filled with activity!
I really like this photo. I was going to vote it down because of certain areas desaturated, others aren't. Or so it appears to me. See it had been validated, so that means I am confused. Will up your score. How did you do it?
You really should NOT have messed with the selective desaturation. The picture would have been at least a <7> had you not messed with it. Now IMHO it just looks tacky and out of place. Never mess with it when you already have a good thing.
