 Believe it or not, the upper part of the building really is darker in tone.

Just lightroom adjustments for White Balance, Noise and Lens Adjustments, then merge to photomatix with general slider settings. (Black and white points set to 0), then back to lightroom for more global adjustments.

Great image and I do like the PP very much. The dark clouds brings out the (lovely colours of the )pagoda very well.
