I set my glass of water down on my coffee table and the sun broke through the clouds and through my window to produce this shadow. Knowing I may have only moments to capture the shot I grabbed my camera with the 50mm prime already on it and found I couldn't get high enough to get the whole image. I then jumped on a chair, got the shot and started to think of setting the shot up better and the clouds rolled in again for the rest of the afternoon.
I'm sure most other's here could process this shot so much better but I'm not unhappy with the results.
Converted to b&w boosting the blacks & whites signifantly.
Cloned out a million dust bunnies as at aperture 22 on a white table shows I really need to get the sensor cleaned.
I created my first duplicate layer (how exiting!) then masked the glass & shadow (also a first for me) so as to brighen and blur the coffee table.
This is the first time I've really ventured into the realms of Advanced editting.
I would like this to score in the high 5's but I really don't know how this will be recieved by the masses, how it will compare to other entries or if it is interesting enough to get some comments. None of this matters of course as I managed to capture something that occured unexpectedly and appealed to me.
