The funny thing is that on my crappy work monitor, this shot has a whole lot less appeal. Not anywhere close to as contrasty or 3D like. Maybe everyone's monitors just stink....

It's almost shocking to see this down at 5.44. What's up with that people? This is a great character study.

Interesting subject. I find the background detracts however. You could have cropped much closer perhaps? e.g. just show head to chin.
