Very grainy I'm guessing due to tight cropping. I don't care for the blowing out behind the little guy, or the dof, the front blurry stick is distracting. Also I don't think this was the best subject for black and white. This photo prolly would have been better in color. Good framing of the subject though.
This is a beautiful B&W but oh how I long to see it in color. The is the best close up of a bird that I've seen in a long time. I hope you caught this in the wild and not in an avairy. I mean the focus is right on. Great shot. A 9 and close to a 10 (if it had been in color). PTL
