Great picture except for two technicalities. 1. A rainbow is a trick of the light and has no physical properties. The water drops that cause the refraction of light to show up as a rainbow can come down and touch the ground, so a rainbow can look like it is touching the ground but only around waterfalls and similar water features that produce a mist similar to rain. Rainbows seen across a sky are so high up in the air that they may appear to touch the horizon but will fall short. Also, the rainbow will move as the observer's eyes move, so you can never get to the rainbow. Had you stopped the rainbow affect at the tree line this would be correct technically. 2. to get a capture with the moon this full in the sky it would have to have been taken at late evening or night when the remaining strength of light would be too soft to produce a rainbow at all. All that being said...Great idea, nice shot(s). 7 |
