One of my first entries was something with lines. Someone commented something like "if you're going to enter this, the lines need to be squared up to go far here".
At that time I thought he/she was "nitpicking", but now I see that it was right.
The top is straight, but the bottom is "off"... and it really does matter to the viewer, even if he doesn't know it.
Quite fitting that the US claims apple pie as a symbol of their country given that it (like the people who founded the US) was originally european; and only with the importation of several ingredients across the atlantic was it possible to be recreated in the foreign land (while the US is still strong on immigration and amalgamating people into the melting pot of US culture). The integration of apple pie into US culture is an interesting 2 minute read if you're so inclined :)
Regarding the image, it's a good picture technically with the only problem being a slight shadow due to the light source, but that is relatively insignificant to the overall image presented.
