This was a quick edit. I used Nik Viveza to warm up the color and also adjusted the contrast. It already had a painterly look out of the camera, but the contrast boost made it more pronounced.
An illustration from a story I haven't read yet...perhaps a fairy tale from an Andrew Lang book or another not yet written and waiting to unfold its secrets.
