 Ashland held its annual 4th of July parade this sweltering hot morning. Hundreds of patriots came out to enjoy the fun, food, and fanfare.

============================

Yet another found shot. This little girl was participating in a watermelon seed spitting contest. I thought the look on her face, just prior to the seed escaping her lips, was one of utter independence and defiance. I'm probably wrong, though, as to how well this will be received as a challenge entry.

Lovely story. I saw a vastly different one, but still a full story, which makes it a wonderful image for me.

Skip, I think this would be greatly improved if the seed were flying.

I think this image woud improve if the (lovely) subject were not dead center. Have you tried moving here a little to the right?

You have your hands full there. An image to embarrass her when she is older.

A classic childhood moment captured ans so fitting to this challenge. 9.
