I took the dogs to Exmouth Beach on deadline day and thought these rocks looked like an opportunity to get an entry into the Ansel Adams challenge. I wasn't very happy with the composition of this photo or indeed the processing but I did enjoy attempting to create the Ansel Adams look. I don't think I would rate it too high myself if I was voting on it and the processing has definitely added a grainy look to it in an attempt to bring out some detail.

Score is 5.5625 at 16 votes which I think is being very kind for this photo.

Geologically interesting subject. Good detail retained in the shadows. High contrast time of day, but pretty good control of highlights. The sky doesn't seem right, but the cloud detail adds interest. Might be some pp artifacts in the sky. The strength of the image is the detail in the stone and the story it tells.
