Built in 1878, this is the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, aka "Mormons". To members of the church, temples are special places in which sacred things are done such as marriages for 'time and all eternity.' Mormons believe that the family unit can be together as a unit, dwelling also with God, even after death, depending on personal and family righteousness. Special learning is also acquired in temples.
To me, it seems that it was built to resemble a fortress to symbolically fend off evil. Indeed, only 'worthy' members of the church can enter a temple. So on this night, in this light, I saw the temple as a 'sacred fortress.'
PS: Cropped, switched to Lab color and applied gaussian blur to A and B channels, shifted colors just a bit to minimize the very green tower and make it more like it looks, resized and sharpened in Lightness channel.

A nice shot of the church. Is it orthodox? I would have liked to see a little more detail/saturation/brightness in the trees. Maybe a longer exposure or a little lighting.
