 I took this on the Mississippi river. I went out hoping to catch a sunrise... Failed. Overcast and rainy.

This picture was taken with natural light and on a tripod.

Although I love this... it's beautiful, to me... it's a photo of the wood.

To be a "landscape", at least in my book, the focus of the image needs to be farther out to the horizon. But, I'm just one opinion. :D

My first thought about this is that I would have tried different viewpoints, probably ending up shooting from more to your left, to get a leading line with the spit of land coming from the corner or bottom of the image. It looks as if it was late in the day with a sprinkle of rain going on.

Focus is too soft on the landscape part, colours are flat and simply uninteresting

Might have been better had you leveled the horizon. That water is running downhill from left to right. A distaction I can't get past.
