It was raining hard all weekend but we did get about 30 mins of light drizzle to do the shot. It's not exactly like I wanted it but close enough... it was very cold so enough suffering for the model. :-)
The ear was cut out of cardboard and I had to play with saturation to make it the same color as the skin.
In PS... levels, exagerated USM and saturation, warm photofilter at 25%, warm difuse glow at 15% or so, Neat Image, some dodging and buring.

It looks like you snuck into Fairy Tale Land and took a candid shot of one of its inhabitants. The vignetting puts the focus of attention on the subject where it belongs while allowing the setting to provide useful context without unwanted distraction. It's a lot more effective than cropping would have been. The softness and saturated colors create the desired ethereal effect, although I personally think both are just a bit overdone. Overall, a wonderful photo, but you already knew that!
Congratulations on your blue. Quite a winner. I mean, this looks like it took place in real life as a fantasy fot a challenge and you not only wound up scoring the blue, but what a lovely and timeless image. I am mad at myself because I missed this image so it only got my 5, which was my placeholder. Shame on me. Well, the more power to you, you won without my high vote.lol
A brilliant and tasteful work of art. The colors are spectacular. The pinpoint lighting and the soft focus a great addition to create the dream effect. 10
Great setup and composition and a really nice use of that softening effect. Since the central light doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere, you might want to tone down that effect a bit or alter it in some way. But overall, this is a really excellent photo - one of the best of the challenge.
Overt softened maybe but guess it adds to the fairy tale experience. Ther colours are excellent and the pic definately meets the challenge. I think i'd have liked to see some space between the models head and the dark background. I'm thinking this would be even better as an aged/sepia shot [7]
My favorite of the challenge! I love the lighting and the colors. The soft focus on the model is awesome, and really gives it that fairy tale feeling. I honestly can't think of a suggestion to improve it. - 10
It's a shame you chose this position for her, because her hait almost gets lost in the shadowy backgorund. If she was a bit more to the left then her hair would be against the green and she would stand out better. I think the soft focus effect was applied a little too strongly too.
This is probably heavily photoshop'd, but that's okay, I love the effect. From the softness, to the lighting, to the colors. Great photo. Good luck in the challenge.
The colors are great, but there's an awful lot of repetition on the left side of the image. Also, the transistion between dark and light is awfully abrupt.
Like the ears. Great lighting. The nude theme is good too, after all why would a creature of the woods wear clothes. The outlying shadows and elf's expression shows a second party observing without the elf knowing which is a big part of challenge. -9-
So far I have only found one word to describe this shot, PERFECT. I could start naming things that I like about this shot but the list would be way to long. I just love every single thing about this shot. You deserve much more than a 10
the colors, concept, and composition are great. the black vingete has a bit of a harsh transitoin and the background image feels a bit 2D. can't go wrong with elf ears though ;o)
This photograph is one of my favorites in the challenge. So beautiful in fact that you didn't need to go overboard with the photoshop vignetting. Great model, lighting, and pose. 10
