 There's a pair of these that live in a pond at a temple here. I was really close to this one, about a 2 feet away. The 2 swans have been known to bite.

I wouldn't quite say he was showing off. It was more like, "Come any closer and I'm going to bite you and throw your a$$ in the water." hehe.
