I'm happy that this got a lower vote than most of my entries. That's pretty selfish of me isn't it. But really, I'm just glad that the voters dislike this kind of image more than they dislike the kind of mediocre pap that I typically put to the mat.
However, I think the key to this image is not in the picture. It's in the challenge.
I think Yanko and klkitchens actually got the connection. I'm stunned that someone would understand the connection between 'still life' and yet consider this hyperliteral "Yellow. Still Life." image a DNMC.
Struth cobber, reflective and retrospectively, a painful cry, but a good 'un. Reminds me of my dear departed Mother's favourite saying - sharper than a serpents tooth. Good to see you here ;) I tried the number but the message said the jury had disbanded, might look for another recycle bin.
The image it's self seem to be more about the message as opposed to the Yellow element. I would imagine the message will be interpreted by some voters as being in bad taste. Good luck.
That sign is ridiculous.
If it's legit, it makes it even better. Wondering how business is doing with advertising like that. Giving this a 8 because the signs makes me laugh at how absurd it is.
Nice you twisted the image since the advertisement is so twisted itself. What is being murdered is "still life" and Dr. Ruth sells the killing of that life. However, I think the theme is for a still life photo which this is not. 5, but then -3 for DNMC (not a still life)
