 Red Crossbill, Loxia curvirostra

Uncommon and very irregular. Not a great photo. Sorry. Shooting in the deep shade of predawn. I only see these guys about once a month, so I'll submit this photo to the side-challenge now.

Perhaps not the perfect photo, but the colors are nice in combination with the snow (brrr). Never seen one before, although (according to Wikipedia) they should be here also. We call it the "kruisbek".

Nice find! We have crossbills here but I've never seen them. My sister gets them at her feeders but she lives over 900km away.
