Sometimes a shot that you never intended to enter in a challenge, just fits in the theme. This is one of those cases. I was really looking forward to this challenge, as Color on Color is a lot of fun to setup for. But I only got limited time, and my result was much lower quality than I could accept. Looking back on the images I took in the last week, this one from a recent hike really seems to work out well. The sandhill cranes fit right in with the early spring tans of this marsh.

A nice capture with good color. The composition, however, to me, is lacking a bit. The bird directly behind the main subject muddies the eye's focus some. Personally I also wish it was a bit wider shot.
