I hope the similarity between the two shots doesn't hurt me. If I had known this challenge was coming I would have saved the other photo and used something else for "Best of 2011".

I don't know what this is, but I love the boldness of the orange sphere in the darker, less defined background. A very nice geometric abstract. In my top 10.
An interesting composition of shapes and color to convey a mood or feeling. Love the bright and bold orange ball; it DOES make me think of the sun. It just pops off the black backdrop. The slice of freeform that contains green can make one think about nature and trees, but because the main shape invokes imagery of the sky I see the green ripples as an aurora borealis. One small critique - I think the large border takes a little away from the appeal of the image. The orange thin line calls attention away from your main subject - I feel that orange ball should shine alone in the composition.
such a different and unique shot. love the abstract feel to it. the only thing that I don't like is the line that goes through the bottom of the picture.
