Awesome week to watch this score. Thank you all for the comments and votes. Great to be back on DPC and get my third highest scoring photo!
This photo was taken at the John Dellenback Sand Dunes along the Oregon Coast. I captured this image of my cousin Keaton while we were on a two week road trip down the west coast from Cannon Beach to Santa Barbara. Check out Keaton's Website.
This sand dunes area is quite amazing with rolling dunes, seemingly random mounds of forests, and pockets of pools here and there.
Here are a couple more photos from the dunes area and the Oregon Coast:
This is an image with a ten for artistry and a 10 for popularity. That is, I can see it stretched out on a gallery or in a home or mansion. It also has a great Zen quality.
Zoomdak is back! Oregon Coast welcomes the world to her finest scenes and wonders. Thanks Thomas for a beauty. True photographic artwork. Looking forward to this piece hanging on our wall at home!
Clarity, light and color, simplicity, all excellent. I could have used half as much sky as that is the least impactful part of the image imo. Still a wonderful picture that would be very nice to live with. 8
A pure vision realised. Some may say the figure spoils the image - not me, it removes it from notions of contrived abstraction to something more tangible. We feel wonder at the (real) world as a result.
Lovely minimal scene. The dark clothing really makes the person not only stick out, but feel even more alone because there is nothing else dark around her.
The simplicity draws me in; love the color palette and the reflection. I would like to see the person with some movement to make it look a little more candid. One of my highest scores. Hope it does well for you. (voted earlier)
One of my faves from this challenge. The flow of the lines and soft tones, just do it. The lone traveler is always a thoughful concept. This could also be a visual interpretation of someone looking for answers in a dream or meditative state. (just commenting, no vote)
One of the very few images in this challenge that inspired me to comment. The simplicity of this image, in both composition and tones really makes this such an easy image on the eye. Very soothing. COuld see this on my wall quite easily.
EDIT: finished voting and this is quite clearly in the top 5.
Very minimalist - simple and elegant in presentation. The flow of shapes and colors is pleasing to the eye. The single person in the composition poses the question - by which way shall he/she travel. Land, water, and the sky; the third option that is available to man with the invention of the airplane. But then there is the observer watching the scene the travels too into this scene. Our mode of travel: imagination. Great work, hope to see this in the top 10.
