I chased a few seagulls around, trying to catch them in the light coming under the pier. Had a good time. Well, I did. I'm not sure about the gulls. But they seemed to be pretty good sports about the whole thing.

This one is scoring better than anticipated! Always a pleasant surprise.
Other options:
I will admit that both of these also look pretty good in color, particularly the boy and his fish.

Primadonna seagull captures the spotlight(but they're all primadonnas).
I thought this might be yours but never feel safe predicting. Nice finish (nice place too) -silly puns intended.
Congrats on the great finish. This was in my top four -- I meant to comment but ran out 0of time. The flare is great and I especially like the gull's shadow.
Congrats on the top ten, this was one of my favourites. Next time use a dog to herd the gulls, it's easier.
Now you can put yourself on the points list :-)
Congrats on 8th place, Deb. I really love this image (which was in my top score lineup). I have come back to comment on this one specifically because I want to bestow my 15,000th comment on an image that really speaks - or sings - to me. I just love that bird and his shadow caught in the stream of sunlight and the way they lead to the beautiful sunburst between the pier pylons. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Nice gradation throughout the photo from bright white to black. Nicely composed with strong subjects and good detail. Could have been a tad brighter overall, and I would have liked a few more highlight details in the foreground waves. Well done!
