 I was so hoping to be able to use the captures from this "expedition" in some interesting way.

Original RAW image processed up in Capture NX2
-contrast,brightness
-unsharp mask
-convert to sepia
-add grain
-multiple feathered selective adjustments to brightness and contrast
-slight blur on cows and foreground grassy area
-added border
-size and save for DPC

I love almost everything about this shot.

I'd have removed the live tree on left to make this image "sing".

This is different. The tree on the left side of the photo is somewhat distracting, perhaps cropping it out would have looked better.
Love the sepia tone. Reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock movie, the look of it.

I like the composition, but would like a bit for definition for cows and trees. May just be my taste.
