I originally pp'd this for the Best of 2011 challenge, but thought it was too "arty". This one is about feelings, and secrets, and the whispery world of butterflies. This is actually a re-edit, now that I can actually mostly see what I'm doing. Enjoy. ;D
This would be perfect as an illustration in a children's book - it's almost 3D and very nearly jumps off the screen at you. I do like the processing here.
Visually this might be my favorite. The shot has a magical quality. The warm tones here I'm a sucker for ;)
"Whisper your secrets" might've been enough though. Putting the word skin in there makes me concentrate on the texture of the skin more and how it appears a tad overly smoothed. Still all in all, it's very nicely composed and exposed for. (just commenting, no vote)
I love butterflies so when one captures an interesting concept it captures my attention. Composition of subject and 'diagonal' lines are strong in this photo. The fingers emerge from the bottom left corner and the wings point towards the top right corner. Wonderful detail is captured with this Monarch Butterfly. To me the picture symbolizes Man getting 'in touch' with Nature.
