Aha Fred! Man am I glad I suggested this one haha. Well done on the ribbon! This re-worked edit really works for this gloomy type of weather. I guess if you didnt have those ripples in the water it would have finished much lower down. Good capture. Well done man!!
This is quieter than some of my other top picks, but that suits the mood very well. Especially like the rings in the water. The compositional balance is very nice. A favorite.
Exquisite. So many different features to enjoy, lines and circles, color and muted tones, areas of texture and areas of stillness. All achieving a harmonious whole. Then those two birds just put this over the top..

Eye-candy. This image has the advantage of being cherry-picked by voters, including me. It grabs my attention in the first few seconds i see it, and my untrained eye usually falls easily for good-looking images like this.
A minute passes by and I am still looking at it, giving me a chance to take note of the other elements of this image. I see that the colors are a bit unnatural, but they are pleasant colors. I would have cropped off the empty right portion as it does not add anything to the image. In fact a square crop from the top left all the way to the bottom may have worked quite well here. The position of the boats are perfect. The light, shadows and reflections were all handled well. Overall, i like your image. Please accept my 7 for it.

I really like the composition....the 2 water filled boats, the mist in the background, the ripples in the water. The editing is not my favourite, slightly too much HDR which gives it that washed out look. But it's just on the edge of that, so not too bad.
And then, suddenly, the rain stopped.
