Taken at the Crystal Cove get together when Lydia, Lynn, and Tom were in town. Gorgeous Super Bowl Sunday!

This is indeed a snapshot. That's what I do! The "models" are not posed, or in this case even aware of the shot. I probably should have moved the couple in the distance, but I didn't want to yell that loud, and they seemed somewhat preoccupied. I do realize I should have moved myself to get them out of the picture, but I did want the pretty clouds! :-)
Seriously, though, I very much appreciate all the comments. I like knowing why a picture doesn't work even better than why it does. Thanks!

Here's the original. After Steve's comment, I came home and checked. The first step in editing was to rotate the original - quite a bit actually - so the water is level. This does indeed make the ground look unlevel, which it is. I'm not quite sure for DPC whether to give the overall picture a level "balance" or to level it as it is (ie water should be flat) but I'm pretty anal about leveling water when it's the ocean/horizon. So I was a bit aghast when I thought I'd perhaps missed that step!

Following up, I see your notes concerning my comment about the tilt. I can also see you were using your ultrawide, which explains why you couldn't get it with everything looking level. The distortion inherent in the lens may have been a factor. I do think the original looks more correct, as my eye is drawn to the people and landscape, not the distant ocean horizon. I usually correct my tilt first along a known vertical or horizontal line (if one exists), but then to look right to me if the first approach doesn't come off well.
I like this - it's so very natural. Love the colortone. I also love how the couple in the distance are kind of framed by Sophia and mom. Was that planned or did you see it after the shot was taken?
I like the effect the clouds give out in the image good sharpness i feel the mother and daugther could have been positioned better in the image i think the couple in the B/G are annoying too the image and i think you would have been better later in the day maybe early evening you can capture lovely sunsets and have a good moody feel too it ..Well done
