A few times I've seen acts where the musician uses a sampler to record various phrases of the song which then repeat and build upon themselves. He may start with a percussion beat on some maraca, add a bass riff, move to guitar, add some skatting, etc. I think it's pretty cool to witness and wanted to know if the style or technique has a specific name? and if anybody has any links of good examples?
