I think a lot of countries have more 'freedom' than the US.
It is easy to have democracy where population is 99 % white and everyone speaks Norvegian,try that where your apartment building or whole city or state ,even country looks like United Nations,don't even go there ..

Contrary to your accusation, it wasn't JUST for broadcasting in your mother tongue. While there may have been political motivation, the fact is that the station was broadcasting illegally. Many illegal stations in the U.S. have also been shut down for the same reason. For example, just last month federal authorities shut down "El Sol," 95.3 FM, in Pennsauken, NJ, and seized its broadcast equipment, saying it was operating illegally, not to mention interfering with the signals of licensed stations.

The United States exicutes more people than any other western nation.
Amnesty International would point out that supporting the death penalty is not exactally protecting human rights. I'd argue that in many areas the UK does much better.
Those who live in glass houses...this is a great place to live. Most days I would not trade it for the world. That doesn't mean we are even as close to perfect as we think we are. :)
Howard Stern didn't get kicked out because he was broadcasting in Spanish !
His program was Adult nature and viewers with little kids didn't want him on air for many years and even I had problems when my kids sometimes used to tune in on his program...

You started this rant complaining about how a radio station got shut down "just because" they were broadcasting in their mother tongue. Now, you are posting what may be a legitimate complaint about the treatment of Macedonians by the Greeks. Those are two entirely different things. It may very well be difficult, if not close to impossible, to get a license for a Macedonian language radio station in Greece. In which case, I sympathize with those who are trying to do so. But to say that the U.S. grants more freedom than Greece, based on the example you gave, does not hold up to scrutiny.

Yes, but Howard Stern was a potty mouth for years and got raises. It wasn't until he started critcizing Bush that he got blackballed by Clearchannel, just like the Dixie Chicks. And that is his take on it as well. :(
