Am I the only one puzzled about how I'm going to create a poster when the rules state:
You MAY NOT: "add text or any legible characters to your entry or its border during editing. This includes copyright statements."
Is this just an oversight? Or are these really supposed to be posters without any text.. Seems like that would defeat the purpose somewhat..
I guess this would turn out to be one challenge which would rely so much of your challenge entry title.
One doubt I have is: Which way do they mean by rejected?
Is it like it is rejected because the photo do not have relevance with the movie name?
-Or- Is it like photo is not too good to be used as a movie poster?
-Or- is it like rejected only because there is already a good movie poster which they do not want to change?
ANOTHER thread about people over thinking the challenge! SHEESH...
Think of the "cutting room floor". Shots that wouldn't make it even to editing cause they were out in left field.....

Yeah, I was curious if text would be allowed as it has been in several previous challenges (including postcards, motivational poster (I, II, and III), de-motivational poster, and I'm sure others.)..

First, ok, I'll totally forget this happened.
Second, the rules are the forum posting rules, which you should have already read.
Third, there are several very good reasons we "argue about the fine details of the 'intentions' of the challenge":
-Somebody really doesn't understand, and is looking for clarification
-An omission has occurred somehow, and more info is needed
-Feeling out the crowd, and what the general interpretation of the challenge will be (this is actually the ONLY way to figure this bit of info out).
-Some one of many other reasons I either do not know, or cannot remember.

Have a look at these past challenges, and you'll see why I thought that "Poster" might imply a need for an exception to the No Text rule.

I took it as make a well designed movie poster for a really bad movie that wouldn't make it, eg, something along the lines of "1001 Ways to file your taxes" (best I could think of on the spot).

And I'd say that IMHO, it becomes non-photographic in nature somewhere around 50/50 (only if the non-photograph portion is very well done, and blends seamlessly with the photographic.).. Although I've little doubt that this will be a source of significant contention among the voters..

Psh, I'm used to half the voters not liking my photos, and the other half liking them. But, I guess if it can't get DQ'd regardless of what I do.... might as well have some fun.
