just got back from my first ever o/seas holiday.....belated OE (awesome). Here are a few pics I took......ended up taking a lot of the bird ones at the full extention of the digital zoom and the clarity was frustrating....but I had fun!

warrior during ceremonial dance - have altered the colour balance as it was dark but need editing help with it please....
My favourites are the Sunset, on the beach, the white flower and the pink flower. I think you could play around with the sunset and the beach to create a couple of really good prints :)
imho never ever use the digital zoom. Stay with your maximum optical zoom and if you really want closer then resample in your fave editing prog - much better results.
Thanks Andi....just couldn't get close enough with the optical zoom to many of the birds, I'm not very good at sneaking up on them so all I got was a speck on the beach without using the digital extra - think our birds here are a little less spooky.
Love the pictures, Sue. Hope you had a great time. I especially like the picture of the sunset and the butterfly. The warrior picture is very interesting. Maybe blurring the background so you can't tell he's in a modern setting? Also, in the series on your website, I loved the crab and the plumeria (white flower). Beautiful! :o)
thanks Laurie........wondered what the white flower was, thought it might have been some sort of magnolia. Will try working on the background of the warrior, I'd really liked to have got rid of the windows above him but wasn't sure how....I'll go read the 'how to' in the tutorials.
