It is different from beginner to beginner. It depending on which agencies they start with, what type of images they creating, how many and then the quality. At some agencies you will have sales right from the beginning (like at Shutterstock) and at other agencies it will take some time. Some agencies you may not be accepted with you first try.
Writing about it in a blog will help you to get some referral connections. So keep doing it, as I think referral and affiliate income is part of this business too.
