Here's a really low-level version involving selection of the plants, creating a new layer with the selection active (so only the selection is on it) then running the adjustments on that layer only; curves, color, etc. So the BG is basically the same, but the plants are better. Then selectively erase at a low opacity some of the work on the leaves where they got too bright. If that makes any sense?
