how do I shoot a waterfall and make it look silky during the day when the sun is bright? What setting should I put my camera on? Anyone got any good tips?
People are using "neutral density filters" to slow things down. Google it and read about them. It's like putting really dark sunglasses on your camera.
Note that you don't NEED an ND filter. You can get some nice results with long shutter and very small aperture. The water is moving very quickly, so even 0.5 seconds shutter starts getting you the silky look.
