Don't obsess. That particular definition is quite wide open and the spirit of the Challenge is well discussed and defined in the thread posted by citymars. This link and this link have a wide wide variety of examples to learn from.

Nope -- never had any of those ... well a couple of sunsets maybe. But I'm pretty sure the supply of "fine art" is equally scarce ....
Interesting that the Spider Awards seperated abstract and fine art. Certainly there is cross over.
I was trying to make that point in the other thread that because images are artistic and Gallery worthy doesn't necessarily place them into the Fine Art Photography category. Personally, I'm on the fence with Street Photography but I do see some work where the fleeting elements align to create an entity, which is on an entirely different plane.
It's hard to draw lines and make sound solid arguments but we all do it in our own ways...all the time.
WOW, some amazing images on that spider awards thing, i..i think i want this as my new signiture style, i love the look of it and a couple of mine...are sort of like it very excited for this challenge
I just have to say this because many are posting links to what they think "fine art" photography is, or as examples, etc. in this thread and the other floating around.
To me, the point of this challenge is to pull something from your own head and imagination, and not to copy or emulate some other photographers work. Take a chance, step away from your comfy zone. A favorite quote:

Maybe this has been asked already, but I can't find the answer. Why is there a yellow flag by 'Advanced Rules'? I thought the flags indicate that there is some exception to the norm, but the Sunday challenge is normally Advanced Rules.
