I'll be in Princeton NJ for one of my son's college auditions on Friday Feb 5th. I should have the morning free. Anyone interested in going out shooting, or have suggestions where to shoot?
That would be nice George. The next question is...where are there some interesting things to shoot? Any nice landscapes, waterfalls, etc? Or interesting places on campus or in town?
The whole university campus is great. A lot of tudor-esque architecture, with a few modern buildings thrown in. Waterfalls and landscapes? Not so much, except for Princeton Battlefield (landscape, no waterfall), and in the surrounding areas. Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park could be considered "the surrounding area"... but that's about fifteen minutes away.
I'd love to join up with you, UNFORTUNATELY I will be working in NYC that weekend. You will be pretty close to the NJ Grounds for Sculpture, that's always a nice place for pix.

I'd like to find a few more people to come; I'll probably be in/around Princeton all day. There's too much of a disparity between the quality of my images and that of nshapiro's images!

Per an email I got, some of the buildings, the chapel for example, make nice subjects. I have a new fisheye to play with.
I am only going to have the morning to shoot...my son wants to head home right after his audition because now he has tickets to hear the King's Singers in Schenectady that evening.

Not if we go to the D&R Canal State Park, which as I mentioned is only about 10-15 minutes away. But if you come to Princeton, you should at least go for a stroll around campus, it's very nice. What time do you think you'll be in the area? And what time are you leaving?
I'm assuming that your son's interview was cancelled, Neil. I live near Princeton but I was in NYC until this evening. NO snow in NYC, plenty in Mercer County NJ.
Very good that you got some challenge-possible shots. And very glad you got out of town before it hit.
I was in NYC (where there was nothing) and came back to the Trenton train station to find that there were absolutely NO taxis running at all. My poor husband having just finished three hours of shoveling/snowblowing and then had to get in the car and rescue me and four coworkers.
Glad he liked Westminster. It is a nice area, scenic and very historic.
