I am looking for a free website that allows me to do some long distance teaching.
It needs to allow me to share my desktop or at least powerpoint presentations.
I am currently trying dimdim, but with little success. It doesn't seem to like my dual monitor setup for sharing my desktop, and my trial powerpoint presentation has been supposedly uploading now for the last 18 minutes - it is only 4.2 MB big!
Hey Beetle... assuming that you have PhotoShop - click on File --> Share My Screen.
It launches Adobe ConnectNow - a full desktop web conference service complete with whiteboards, chat, webcam video, audio, etc, etc. Works like a charm :)
Note: it is a free service for sharing with TWO other people. For more than that, it is a charged service.

I have used TeamViewer ( www.teamviewer.com ) - free for non-commercial use, you can either run or install the client. It is awesome for one-on-one - I have not tried it for larger audiences.
Others I am aware of but have not tried: www.gotomeeting.com, www.webex.com (used this a long time ago for meetings). Those are the only ones off the top of my head.

OMG, I am getting so senile! When I first got CS4 I was all excited about that feature, but I had totally forgotten about it!!! Duh :-(

Ken..... thanks for those suggestions, I'll check them out, too.
If necessary to go paid software on this one, I recommend Netsupport, it's the one I use in my work, and not only let's you share your screen, with compression for those big files, it also allows you to share control over the remote computer(s).
Cons: it's paid, and the destination computers must have a client file installed.
It's stellar though, even allows you to monitor the other user you're connected to through thumbnails.
Quick update: seems that the feature on Photoshop works quite well and compares favourably to the other options.
Now if only my stupid internet wasn't so slow ...... I miss Comcast *sigh*
