Heck, I once shot, uploaded RAW, converted, resized, sharpened, and posted to workshop (to illustrate a point in a thread) in a little over 4 minutes. And we've ALL got the odd body part lying around, usually (hopefully, even) attached to us.
Not to mention that I suspect some people love entering any damn photo just to have the first one in, and that it gets replaced with a "real" entry sometime later.
