Maybe the wires actually look like that : )
It has to do with the resolution numbers of your computer screen, and the number of pixels in the image on the screen. If the two numbers are close but not a multiple of each other, then there will be some pixels that don't get represented in a line, like a wire in the image for instance, that is only a couple of pixels wide. It's not so noticeable where there is a solid area in the shot.
I have noticed that effect too. It's sort of like interference patterns where waves with different periods intersect.
A simple example would be an area where there are 10 pixels of screen definition per inch, and you are viewing the image at 9 pixels per inch. In this case, there would be one place in ten where there would be no pixel in the image at that size. When you increase or decrease the viewing size of the image, the ratios change. It's most noticeable on my monitor when the line is slightly diagonal.
I don't think you can do much about it, except maybe get a big enough screen to view images at full size all the time.
