I guess I put it on too tight but now my reversing ring is stuck on my 18-55. What should I do? I tried getting it off with a rubber hand held thing meant for opening jars but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Before anyone says it yeah I'm an idiot for putting it on so tight, it was an accident I was rushing to take pictures of a ladybug haha
Try putting it on your camera, then try to unscrew the lens with it mounted. That should distribute the torque along the whole reversing ring and maybe it will come right off.
If you try this, don't turn it so hard that you mess up the mount in the camera.
Yes, I've only used the reversing ring once before so still not really used to it.
It fell from my ceiling onto some paper, shot it handheld and DOF is super shallow.
When I shoot macro hand held, I have found it helpful to use 2 second self timer on things that don't move much. Pushing the shutter button moves the camera almost every time. Try it sometime with the camera turned off, when you are up this close to something, and you will see the motion that it causes in the viewfinder.

Yeah it was alive barely, every winter ladybugs infest our house somehow. It was lit with a flashlight in a grocery bag haha, the extent of my lighting capabilities.
I noticed that they like to get indoors on the ceiling at my friend's place in Tennessee. We had my wife convinced that they have a mean bite, but they only bite one time per month, when they aren't so lady like.

My lens is 35mm prime and stuck is lens reverse ring
Senay hasn't been around in over 4 years. Often the best way to "unstick" threaded stuff on lenses is to not squeeze so hard, because when you do you are actually distorting the rim and making it more difficult to unscrew. Use a grippy jar-opener or neoprene pad, just press down on it without actually gripping, and rotate the palm of your hand. It may well work :-)

We had a mutant variety of lady bugs when we lived in Ohio and they did bite. Our house was a dark color and it attracted them by the thousands and we would get atracked all the time. It was like looking at this cute little lady bug then all of a sudden the darn thing would bite you then it would have to die!
