Yes, it has only comprised of bergiekat, myself, and our spouses in the past.
Yes, it is open to anyone that wants to join in.
The best parades are on:
13 Feb, The Gemini Parade. Great daytime street photography of alot of strange and unique people and the parade starts about dusk.
14 Feb, The Highlands Parade. A neighborhood parade that again provides some great street photography but is a little more cozy and is the best opportunity to gather a bunch of beads. It's an afternoon parade so it still leaves time to get home at a reasonable time (you would definitely have to ask bergiekat about the timing of it for travel after the parade.
If possible, and weather permitting, we can get out on the base to shoot around the lakes. Kat and I both scored PBs from one lake and there is also a linear air park.
If anyone is interested just post here and I will keep a list of all participants.
Oh, I forgot to add I may be able to get a model or 2 that we may can shoot some. I have 3 strobes, backdrops, and props that we can use. (I don't think the models are into nudity so don't ask at this point)
Good opportunity to play with light and we will figure out where to fit this into the schedule.
Let me know if there is any interest in this also so I can pursue this.
I've got three umbrella lights, but no external flash, lol!
If it doesn't pan out, maybe we could get James to model, roflmao! :P
I'm jazzed to hit the lake again. Will share some of the pics we also got from the other lake (where the 'gator was). :)
I'm really looking forward to this. It's always been a blast!!! I've gotten some of my best shots from this GTG and the more people we would have attend, the more fun we'd have. People, Ken provides us access to some of the most wonderfully scenic places and the average person couldn't get to see and he and Marge are wonderful hosts!
I think he recently moved to Monroe, LA, but I'll let him chime in on where he's at right now. I'm currently in Destin, FL and haven't seen him in a while.
Kettle and I are in Longview TX. We might drive over for parade photos and to meet some other DPC members. I have a few shots from the Caddo Lake area on my portfolio. Is that the lake you mention?

No, the lake that is referenced is Flag lake on Barksdale AFB, that's why we say it's not available to everyone. Actually there are about five lakes on Barksdale and Flag is the largest with some interesting views.
Hey Ken, is this the Bass Master 500 weekend again???!!! Yikes! Guess I need to find a hotel room again!
Don't know if there is a Bass Masters again this year during that week or not, I'll look.
We are moving from our really small apartment to a medium size house and may have some space on a first come, first serve basis. The house is still within walking distance of Shreveport/Barksdale Hwy where the first parade is held.
put her down, put her down......and I almost got a "yes" from James last night, lol! I am excited about the lakes! So many great shots from them. (Guess I should upload some someday, lol!)
Happy New Year, Kettle and I are planning on being there. Add us to the list. We will either be able to come over late afternoon Saturday or Sunday for the day.
Not related to the discussion, but it's a shame the Teddy Bear Sandwich Den shut down years ago. It was one of the places I always looked forward to making a stop at when in Bossier. Oh, well, time marches on.

My own "drag along" is very interested in going to Mardi Gras. She won't be interested in traipsing around the bayous in the early morning, however.
That's one of good things about this group. We don't tie anyone up and drag them along for any portion of the GTG. ;-) For the lake shoot I think we went out about 0630, but it still could be adjusted because of the weather.

If you want a good sandwich Marge and I go to The Real Pickle. I'll see if I can dig up a menu and post it. They have a great variety of sandwiches and beers. We could plan that for a lunch or a dinner.
