Brings back recent memories, LOL... luckily I was not the individual involved.
I was at a meeting at a naval base in Indiana (yep, go figure IN for a naval base!) and one morning some of our group was uncharacteristically late. We heard a "boom", and about 5 minutes after that, the latecomers arrived. What had happened was they closed off the only road to the building, because they had to blow up a suspicious bag. Apparently someone arrived, set down their briefcase next to their car, and walked away without it. I sure hope it didn't contain anything irreplaceable!
