I am wanting to use a headset mic for Wii Rock Band 2 (actually Beatles Rock Band mainly). I was under the erroneous advice that nearly any USB mic worked, but I picked one up and the Wii was never able to detect it. Anybody have a line on a headset mic that works for these games?

One of my sons has a Wii and Rock Band 2. I asked him about it and he confirms that the Wii will only accept a USB mic but not a USB headset. I guess the game must be programmed to accept a headset for it to work. He tried many combinations to no avail.

If all you want is handsfree I would suggest a boom and fasten the Wii USB mic to it. You can get them as desk mount.
