Start to finish perfection. Opening up with Thunder Road (which would have been my wedding song if it wasn't for the "YOU AINT A BEAUTY BUT HEY YOURE ALL RIGHT" line!!) and ending on Jungle Land.
Try and listen to Jungleland and not get chills during the Big Man's sax solo.
So glad that I finally got to see the boss last year.

When I initially read it, I thought, this person is probably under 30 years old - certainly not an insult in any way, but it sounded like a youthful selection. You were close with The Boss, but Nebraska is the best of his albums. To my ear, there are a few better...

Wow, two more votes for Pink Floyd? I like Dark Side Of The Moon, but Wish You Were Here beginning to end is simply amazing. Whereas Dark Side Of The Moon can be a bit too moody if I'm stressed out, Wish You Were Here works for me whether I'm tense or relaxed.

I saw a documentary were David Gilmour said (about Dark Side of The Moon) something like that he was proud of their masterpiece, but he was also sad for had not been able to sit down and "listen the album for the first time" (as any of us). I must agree, because this is an unique experience.

For me dark side wins for best album, but your right about moody, I would often prefer just to sit and listen to wish you were here, its magical. Sadly there are few well crafted albums these days :(

Bruce Springsteen- go way back and check out "The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle"- incredible stories on that one- his second album. First is pretty good too- "Greetings from Asbury Park"
Talking Heads- Remain In Light- dark but layered and very danceable (like all Talking Heads albums).
Hard to choose a Dire Straits album.

That reminds me - I read recently someone (but I forget who) said his deepest regret is that he can never read °The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn° for the first time again.
I am really surprised Led Zeppelin was mentioned only once! But like was said, this is all subjective but still, these are fun conversations to have. For me it would have to be Led Zeppelin II. If I had to live on a desert island for year with only one album this would be it. They are still so young and raw on that album. I do a MEAN air guitar to "bring it on home" and still get chills when Jimmy Page first fires up the guitar on that song.
