I was reading Paul's comments on his lovely, understated rural UK landscape, , where he said "I'm quite pleased with the edit but it clearly isn't Iceland!"
That got me thinking, "where are the Icelanders in this landscape challenge?", so I did some digging in the top 20, and I was impressed at just how far-flung these cream-of-the-crop (according to the voters) landscapes are —

ETA: What the heck has happened to our Icelanders? They used to dominate the landscapes. Have their country's financial woes impacted them all that much? :-(
Cool that the top 5 are from 4 different continents. And the 2 from the same continent are about as far as you can get from each other.
I was fortunate to be traveling to a primo landscape destination for this challenge, because where I live doesn't offer much in the way of stunning landscapes.

Well it's hard to dominate a challenge when none of them enter. Had they I'm sure they would be right up at the top of the results as usual. William88 also didn't enter but the blue ribbon winner proved once again that rocky coastal long exposures are golden.
It is the holiday season. I reckon all the Icelanders are very busy shooting super sexy super models dressed in super sexy santa suits. That or they are going to finish 1st - 10th in the November freestudy with 10 northern lights pics. I am hoping that they all enter the super sexy santa suit shots instead though. :)

Thank you sir. I have done quite a bit of waterfalling in the past 2 years. It's a lot of fun.
Waterfalling? Is that a hobby? Falling into the water? Was that one of those really lame jokes that might get me banned from DPC?
I remember thinking: "WHOA! This challenge couldn't have had better timing! I'm gonna kick some Icelandian legs with my new lens!" Then my new lens broke, so I entered in frustration instead. Point is, I was expecting lot of Icelandian photos in this challenge.
