That poll predates me, but it says, "Would you like to see a new forum section, "Buy, Sell, and Trade" for equipment?" If you're a paying member you do have access to a "Buy/Sell" forum. I'd imagine there's a connection there.
Yes, I saw, but I'm a 'Registered User' and thus can't go there, so I was asking if you could to see if it's actively being used...another reason for noobs to pay up and register. :)

It's usually Canon crap (zing!), but on occasion a Nikonian has something up. I bought my Sigma 105 from jmsetzler a couple years back.

eBay is full of them...but still only $100-$200 less than retail for the new model.

That's one thing nice about the Buy/Sell section here. People tend to think of everyone like family and offer their gear for a bit lower than ebay prices. You'll see a lot of "I wanted to offer it to you guys first before I put it on ebay". People sell other photography related items too; books, etc. There's even a Freebie thread!
I hate to be a skeptic, but how much of that has to do with the fact that there is a fee to sell on Ebay and not here?
I've bought a few items from other members here. The prices they offered were fairly priced. Not giving it away, but it would take some work and patience to find them elsewhere for the same money. Sometimes its just a matter of waiting. In one case, I posted a "wanted to buy" request for a lens, and someone happened to have one they didn't use. That worked out well, as it gave her the $$ to buy a plugin she wanted.
I know a fella that works at a school in Chinatown, Philly, (its a non-profit dealy) and he is looking for old digi cams so he can do a photography project with these under privileged kids. If that interests you, hit me up, I'll put him in touch.

I'm pretty sure I pay a membership fee every year to be able to use the Buy/Sell forum. I also payone to use the Fredmiranda forums, but generally try to offer my stuff here first, even though it always sells over on FM faster. I have a Canon Macro lens for sale on here now, that I haven't listed on FM yet as a courtesy to the DPC members.

Gatorguy......both my transactions were that much nicer 'cause the prior owners got the nice feeling that goes along with getting something good to a friend instead of just out the door for the cash.....and the buyers got a deal on known quantities.
