The "day rate" is a thing of the past. You charge by the job and license for the usage. You can't just say, "My day rate is this." because two different jobs that take "one day" may require greatly different amounts of work or resources. You should always get a fairly detailed summary of the job and then submit a quote. Keep in mind that price is usually NOT the deciding factor in who gets the job as long as your quote isn't ridiculous. If the person who's running the show wants to work with a certain photographer, they'll work with that photographer even if they aren't the cheapest, because they want to work with them as opposed to someone else. |
